Title (Max 100 Charaters)
A brush fire near 14th and Orr in the South Park area spread to a nearby vacant garage on Sunday afternoon, with the smoke being seen for miles.
Crews were called to the scene around 2:45 p.m. Crews from Station #26 arrived quickly and were able to put out the fire within 20 minutes.
There were no injuries connected to the fire, and investigators are trying to figure out how it got started. But the smoke from the fire could be seen from locations throughout the city.
The fire also brought up the issue of fires in South Park with the closure of the bridge. An incident commander told KOMO’s Lindsay Cohen that the Seattle Fire Department put an extra unit at Station #26 since the bridge shut down.
